Rolet-centerWindow Blinds & Shutters
A conversion-optimized, e-commerce-ready website with an interactive product configurator for a leading window coverings manufacturer and installer. The platform lets customers visualize roller blinds, shutters, and window treatments in realistic room mockups, dramatically reducing purchase hesitation. Built with React and Canvas API, the configurator bridges the gap between online browsing and in-home consultation.
About the project
Rolet-center is a well-established manufacturer and installer of premium window coverings — including roller blinds, Roman blinds, wooden shutters, aluminum venetian blinds, and exterior roller systems — serving residential and commercial clients across Poland. With a comprehensive product range spanning dozens of fabric types, slat materials, and operating mechanisms, their customers faced a complex purchasing decision that traditionally required in-home consultations. We designed and built a product-focused website centered around an interactive window treatment configurator that empowers customers to visualize how different products, colors, and materials would look in realistic room settings. The platform features a step-by-step product selection flow guiding users from window type identification through material and color selection to instant automated pricing, eliminating the back-and-forth of traditional quote processes. Complemented by an extensive inspiration gallery, detailed product technical specifications, and a streamlined measurement guide, the website transforms the customer journey from a time-intensive in-person process to a self-service digital experience that generates pre-qualified leads ready for installation scheduling.

Window Blinds & Shutters
The Challenge
Window coverings are an inherently visual product — customers need to see how different blinds, shutters, and fabrics will look in their specific spaces before committing to a purchase. Rolet-center's existing website was a static product catalog with small thumbnail images and PDF spec sheets, offering no way to compare options or visualize products in context. This created a bottleneck where every potential customer required a time-consuming in-home consultation just to understand their options, overwhelming the sales team and slowing the entire purchase cycle.
The window blinds and shutters market in Poland has become increasingly competitive, with both local manufacturers and international brands offering online configurators and instant pricing. Rolet-center's lack of digital tools was costing them market share among younger, digitally-native homeowners who expect to research, compare, and configure products online before engaging with a sales representative. Mobile traffic accounted for over 60% of their website visits, yet the existing site was barely functional on smartphones.
The sales team was spending a disproportionate amount of time on unqualified inquiries — answering basic questions about available colors, materials, and pricing that could be addressed through self-service tools online. Many phone consultations ended without a sale because the customer's expectations didn't match the product range or pricing. Rolet-center needed a digital solution that would pre-educate customers, let them self-configure their ideal product, and deliver quote-ready leads to the sales team with specific product selections and measurements already captured.
Our Solution
We started with extensive user research — interviewing both the Rolet-center sales team and recent customers to map the full decision journey for window coverings purchases. We identified five key decision factors: product type, material and fabric, color and pattern, operating mechanism, and price. This informed the configurator's step-by-step flow, which guides users through each decision point with visual previews and helpful guidance, reducing cognitive overload and making a complex product selection feel intuitive.
The interactive product configurator is the platform's centerpiece, built with React and the Canvas API for real-time rendering. Customers select their window type and dimensions, then browse available products overlaid on photorealistic room mockup scenes — choosing from living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and offices. As users change fabric colors, slat materials, or blind types, the Canvas API renders the updated visualization instantly, giving them a realistic preview of how their chosen window treatment will look in a furnished room. The configurator concludes with an automated instant quote based on selected dimensions and materials.
The full website was built as a responsive React application with a mobile-first approach, ensuring the configurator and all product browsing features work flawlessly on smartphones and tablets. We implemented a comprehensive product catalog with advanced filtering by product type, room, material, and price range, plus an extensive inspiration gallery with curated room scenes. A step-by-step measurement guide with instructional diagrams helps customers accurately measure their windows before requesting a quote. The backend integrates with Rolet-center's inventory system for real-time material availability, and all quote requests are automatically routed to the nearest installation team based on the customer's postal code.

How we built a product configurator that transformed window coverings sales for Rolet-center
The window blinds, shutters, and roller systems market is undergoing a digital transformation as homeowners increasingly expect to research, visualize, and configure home improvement products online before scheduling an installation consultation. For Rolet-center, a well-established Polish manufacturer and installer of premium window coverings, the lack of digital product visualization tools was becoming a critical competitive disadvantage. Customers who couldn't see how different blinds would look in their rooms online were simply choosing competitors who offered that capability. We designed and built an interactive product configurator that allows customers to preview any combination of window treatment, fabric, color, and material on photorealistic room mockups — transforming the Rolet-center website from a static catalog into an engaging, self-service sales platform.
The configurator's UX was designed around the natural decision-making process for window coverings, which our research revealed follows a consistent pattern: window type identification, product category selection, material and color exploration, dimension input, and pricing. Each step in the configurator builds on the previous one, with real-time Canvas API rendering showing how selections look in context. The room mockup system includes multiple scene types — living rooms with large windows, bedrooms with blackout requirements, kitchens with moisture-resistant needs, and offices with glare-reduction priorities — ensuring customers can visualize products in an environment matching their actual use case. This guided, visual approach reduced the decision complexity that had previously driven customers to seek in-home consultations for even basic product questions.
The results of Rolet-center's digital transformation speak directly to the business case for interactive product tools in the home improvement sector. Online quote requests increased by 150%, with the critical insight being that these leads are dramatically more qualified — customers arrive at the quote stage having already selected specific products, colors, and materials, making the subsequent consultation focused on installation logistics rather than product education. Phone inquiries dropped by 60%, freeing the sales team to focus on closing qualified leads rather than answering repetitive product questions. Mobile conversions improved by 90%, reflecting the importance of the mobile-first design approach in an industry where customers often browse window treatments on their phones while standing in the room they want to furnish. The Rolet-center configurator demonstrates how purpose-built interactive tools can compress the traditional sales cycle for complex home improvement products.
